Once a quiet, suburban streetcar town, Jamaica Plain is now an ethnically diverse, dynamic neighborhood. Known to locals as “JP”, Jamaica Plain offers a suburban atmosphere with only a quick commute to downtown Boston. Because of the easy commute and reasonable rent prices, JP is slowly being filled with college-educated professionals, artists, college students, and political activists. There is easy access to the MBTA Green and Orange Lines. It is one of the most up and coming Boston neighborhoods and has fantastic amenities that reflect the cultural diversity in JP.
